This beautiful house boasts a large terrace and wonderful landscaped gardens offering a magnificent view over Camus Bay with its own original harbour.
Screebe house has been family owned for many years, which is reflected in the careful attention to detail; all of the rooms are individually furnished with exquisite antique interiors. Whether you are planning a celebration with the family, with friends or business partners, Christmas holidays, birthdays, weddings, christenings or a conference in a peaceful, exclusive full-service atmosphere, or simply want to spend a relaxing holiday amidst un spoilt nature in supreme comfort, Screebe offers the perfect setting.
Screebe House was built as a hunting/fishing lodge by the Berridge family ( Ballinahinch Estate) in 1865, although a house stood on this site since 1847. This wonderfully scenic house is located in an enchanting natural setting in the Connemara region, overlooking an inlet from the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by countless lakes, rivers, imposing mountains, moors and forests. In 2010 the house was thoroughly renovated and brought back to its former Victorian glory.
Screebe presents luxury accommodation with sumptuous comfort and an atmosphere of well-being on over 600 m2. With six double rooms, one twin and one single- all with en-suite- it offers sleeping accommodation for fifteen people, plus a two twin bedroom apartment. The house has a landscaped garden, which can be used for receptions, celebrations, conferences etc.
The House staff will ensure the guests individual comfort. The outstanding cuisine and wine list are of the same high standard. All dishes are produced with locally selected ingredients, many from the estates own vegetable, herb garden, hunting area, lakes and rivers.
The Fishing
The local waters belong to the estate and are famous for their stocks of salmon, brown and sea trout. The estate consists of 40,000 acres of sporting rights. An experience guide will be available to you during your entire stay to guide and assist you and make sure your catch of the day will be one to remember.
