[ August 2008 ]

Colin Folan reports that the highest water levels in years have ensured that the fishery got it's full run of fish safely into Lough Inagh. So far this season we are way ahead on our 2007 catch figures, with 28 Salmon and 187 Sea Trout caught in August alone.
Of them some notable catches werer Vincent Foley (Dublin), with 9 salmon in total for the month, including a fantastic day at the Corloo beat in which he caught 5 fish (four of them in the 7-8lbs mark). Michael Heery and Dennis Murphy boated 17 Sea Trout and a grilse for a day on Lough Inagh, nearly all were caught on a claret dabbler.
September is normally the top month for Inagh and with water levels dropping it is forecast to be a great month ahead.
