Fishery Report » Camillaun Lodge
[ June 2012 ]

After the flurry and bustle of the Mayfly, June returned life to a more relaxed pace. The lake fished well toward the latter half of June. The grilse made their way up the Glann shore and thee were some good catches reported.
Stormy weather and high water made fishing difficult. We lost a large bough of our Willlow Tree and we had a few anxious days about the survival of our new bee hives, thankfully we can report after a recent inspection they Queen is doing what she does best and we will have a healthy brood shortly.
Most of our guests during this part of the year are visitors from USA and Europe, they are very happy to get out on the water and cast a fly. Perch are very willing to test the angler’s patience. There have been some very good catches of trout by some local anglers. Christopher and greg have had no luck so far, but I am still hopeful of a nice brown trout for supper some day soon!
Thinking ahead, July can fish very well with the possibility of another Mayfly hatch, so if you thinking of visiting this neck of the woods consider a spot of fishing with us. We can also arrange fishing on the Connemara fisheries if desired.
