Fisheries » Bunduff River
Salmon: 1 February to 30 September
The Bunduff River drains into Donegal Bay just north of Mullaghmore. It is 14 miles long with a 36 square mile catchment of the borders of counties Sligo and Leitrim. It is a spate river, which gets a very good run of grilse and summer salmon. The first fish come into the river at the end of May, the peak of the run is in July, and, with good water, it can fish through to September. Most of the fishing is done at the Pool below the waterfall, where there is a two-fish daily bag limit. Fly, spinner, worm and shrimp are fished here but spinning is prohibited in low-water. Upstream of the waterfall the river can be fished – mostly with worms – to the second bridge. It is badly overgrown with bushes.
