With everything from wet and windy to cold easterly winds and bright sunny days April weather has been a mixed bag but the fishing has been good over all . There were good hatches of Duck fly early in the month and anglers had great success on the buzzer. The end of the month saw huge hatches of olives and Anglers were rewarded fishing olive nymphs on the bright calm days and wet olives on the windy days.
A nice 4lbs trout caught on the buzzer by Geoff Churchton from Aberaeron in Wales on a flat calm day. Also Die Wiliams and John Cowan from Wales caught 6 perfectly conditioned Corrib trout for 14lbs They had such good fishing in early April on the Duck fly that they returned at the end of the month for the Olives and were rewarded with some excellent fishing . Die said that this year was the best fishing he has had on Corrib and he has fished here every year for over 20 years!
