ROCK HOUSE

After a successful May things looked promising in early June: it was cool, wet and windy on occasions from June 1st.

Having cool wet and windy weather is one thing, but having good fishing conditions is something else.

Sean May from Sligo found such conditions on the 2nd of June : he caught a nice fish of aprox. 11 pounds and released a small sea trout, the first of 2015 on Rock House water.

Dublin man Garret Ruigrok released a 5 to 6 pounder salmon on the 3rd taken from the top end of the high bank on a mini tube fly.
Frank Hughes fished the same day with no luck.

On the 14th two very enthusiastic French anglers in stunning scenery and fresh Atlantic air found 2 nice seatrout in less than ideal conditions.

June became quite dry as the month progressed and humid dry conditions prevaled for the remainder of the month, although there was fishing activity later in the month there wasn't sufficient water to entice fish up stream.

Regards and tight lines till we meet again in a wet July!!!!!!
